中山和泉在香港大學的香港人文社會科學研究所擔任研究員和榮譽助理教授。她的研究興趣橫跨現代與當代日本和東亞的身體、性別、勞動力和技術,亦會涉獵月經、母乳喂養和不孕症的歷史。其歷史研究背景驅使她探索身體、時間、情感和感官的新主題。
和泉十分喜愛食物,正與Angela Leung合作研究日本和東亞的醬油歷史。她也愛狗,但(暫時)未有進行相關的研究。
她在東京出生和長大,曾在法國、美國和中國留學,並熱愛香港。
Izumi Nakayama is the Research Officer/Honorary Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. Her research interests focus on the body, gender, labor, and technology in modern and contemporary Japan and East Asia, examining the histories of menstruation, breastfeeding, and infertility. She is currently exploring new topics on the body and time, emotions, and the senses.
Izumi loves food and is working on a collaborative historical study of soy sauce in Japan and East Asia with Angela Leung. She also loves dogs, but no history project there…yet.
Izumi is born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and has studied in France, the U.S., and China. She also loves Hong Kong.
