Shiela Tebia, 35, has been working as a migrant domestic worker here in Hong Kong for 13 years. She is the chairperson of GABRIELA Hong Kong, the chapter of the national alliance of progressive Filipino women’s organization.
She is also a volunteer for the Mission for Migrant Workers, an institution who advocates for helping migrant workers in distress.
She had been working as a high school science teacher before she came to Hong Kong. She has also been a part of a youth cultural group in the Philippines since high school where she learned theater act, dance choreography, and script writing.
